U.S. Corona Virus Death Toll Reaches 800,000

As the pandemic approached the end of the second year, the United States surpassed 800,000 deaths from the coronavirus on Tuesday. According to the Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 50 million cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the country since the beginning of the pandemic, which makes up almost the population of San Francisco. The country reached a milestone as Omicron variants became established and the demand for additional vaccinations for vaccinated people increased.

President Joe Biden mentioned what he called a "tragic milestone" on Tuesday. He again urged unvaccinated Americans to vaccinate themselves and their children, and urged  vaccinated people to get booster shots. About 200 million Americans are fully vaccinated, which is more than 60% of the population. This is much less than scientists say is needed to control the virus.

The United States has exceeded the latest thresholds and arrived in the first half of 2021, with cases increasing due to the highly contagious delta variants that are responsible for virtually all infectious diseases. It is increasing again, and with the introduction of the Omicron Variant, things are not getting any better.
