Denver Gunmen Knew the 5 People He Killed in Shooting Spree

An armed man who killed five people and injured two in a series of gunfights in Denver is believed to have targeted past personal and commercial victims. Denver police said Lindon James McCloud, 47, who was  killed in a deadly rampage on Monday night, knew most of the victims. The shooting, which began around 5:30 pm, took place  in and around Colorado's capital. Macleod fired at police who injured him, and later killed him after he was shot dead by a policeman in a busy shopping street.

Colorado State Department records show that MacLeod previously owned a business in Denver called Flat Black Ink Corp, but is now World Tattoo Studio. The first shooting occurred at a tattoo shop within a mile of his previous store address, and four of the victims were shot dead at two tattoo shops in the Denver area. The first shooting took place in downtown Denver, a busy street lined with bars and restaurants. There he killed two women and injured a man who police said is expected to survive. Later, he broke into a house that was also his for-profit company and chased the inhabitants through the building during the shooting, but no one was injured. Later, unfortunately, a man was shot dead near Cheesman Park.

Police later tracked a vehicle that was believed to have been involved in the shooting, and police officers fired at Macleod, but he fled to Lakewood. Shortly before 6 pm, Lakewood police were informed that there had been firing at the Lucky 13 tattoo shop. Police said a man identified as Danny Skofield, 38, was killed there. Macleod later fired at the police officers and went to the Hyatt House Hotel, briefly talking to the hotel clerk, Sarah Stick (who he thoughtlessly killed). About a minute later, an unnamed Lakewood cop saw him and ordered him to drop his gun. Macleod shot her in her abdomen but she returned fire and killed Macleod.
