Florida Boater Finds $1M Worth Of Cocaine

A good Samaritan submitted 69 pounds of cocaine to police after discovering it off the coast of Islamorada in northern Florida Keys, the Miami Herald reported. Police said the retail price of the cocaine was over $ 1 million. The sailors were cruising on the weekend when the drug was discovered, News 7 Miami reported.

This is not the first time this has happened this year, as many reports of cocaine discovery have been reported in Florida's oceans and beaches. According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, a mass of cocaine was found floating in seaweed after being washed away on the land of the Florida Keys in June. Authorities were immediately contacted and Herald reported that he had reached 2.5 pounds of cocaine, or 1 kilogram. That amount of cocaine is worth $ 56,000 on the street, according to Adam Hoffner, a spokesman for the US Customs and Border Protection. In late April, WSVN reported that those who went to Florida beaches in Palm Beach were ready for the sun, fun, and waves, but unexpectedly encountered over $ 1 million in cocaine stones. Senior US Border Guard agent Thomas G. Martin said in a tweet that a total of $ 1.5 million was found over the weekend after 65 pounds of cocaine was separated by bricks and washed ashore. Authorities said the drug had been handed over to the border guard.
